How Long Does Facial Hair Remain Bleached?
Bleaching facial hair is effective for as long as the hair above the surface of the skin (the hair that has been bleached) exists. This hair will grow out as the hair follicles beneath the skin’s surface begin to protrude above the skin’s surface.
The growth cycle for the hair follicle to reach and break through the skin’s surface is typically two to four weeks. So, depending on each individual, the effects of bleaching facial hair may last a couple of weeks or as long as one month.
How Often Can I Bleach My Facial Hair?
Whether you bleach your facial hair every two, three or four weeks will depend on the length of your facial hair’s growth cycle. You’ll be able to determine this after a few sessions of bleaching.
There should be at least 15 days in between each time you bleach facial hair to avoid your skin becoming overly irritated. At a minimum, to remain effective, bleaching facial hair will likely need to be done every four weeks.
Tips to Follow Every Time You Bleach Facial Hair
Follow these tips to give your skin extra protection:
- Facial skin is more sensitive than skin on other areas of the body and more prone to irritation. It also gets more sun exposure. If you have extra sensitive skin, you may want to use a mild formula. (See our product page for details)
- Always do a patch test on another area, such as an arm or leg, prior to applying the bleach directly to your face to ensure you don’t experience any adverse reactions.
- Never apply the creme near the eyes or inside the nose or ears.
- Don’t use bleach over abrasions, warts, moles, or on otherwise irritated skin.
